The books brought together in the “Seas and Oceans” Set make up a multi-disciplinary and systemic approach to the complexity, vulnerability, productivity and exploitation of the marine environment that is today faced with global change. This set of books does not simply describe and analyze the mechanisms that act on how these environments work, but it also presents a cross-disciplinary approach, leading to the governance, sustainable management of resources and adaptation of our societies to change.
The ocean, a source of amazing biodiversity, is an important reserve of food resources needed for the subsistence of human communities. The activity of marine organisms affects the concentration of chemical elements in the biosphere, hydrosphere and geosphere, as well as affecting biogeochemical mechanisms. This book analyzes the state and evolution of these resources, by defining some indicators as well as the effects and impacts of global change on the dynamics of the living exploited resources.

1. Ocean, Biodiversity and Resources, Gilles Boeuf.
2. Pelagic Marine Ecosystems and Biogeochemical Cycles, Louis Legendre.
3. Indicators, Marie-Joëlle Rochet and Verena Trenkel.
4. The Impact of Global Change on the Dynamics of Marine Living Resources, Philippe Gros and Patrick Prouzet.
